OpenAI's enterprise AI agent "ChatGPT Work" and Microsoft's (MSFT) email and calendar management service "Exchange Online" experienced simultaneous service outages on August 31 (U.S. Eastern Time).
According to outage tracking site Downdetector, as of 2:24 p.m. that day, outage reports for OpenAI products surpassed 1,100, while Microsoft Outlook-related reports reached approximately 4,600.
OpenAI stated via its service status page that ChatGPT Work experienced elevated error rates and response latency for approximately three hours.
The company said, "Users across multiple subscription tiers may be unable to start or continue tasks in ChatGPT Work," adding that it "continues to apply mitigations."
OpenAI's official ChatGPT account also posted on X (formerly Twitter): "ChatGPT Work is currently down.
