Now, according to industry sources, the first SUV, which will likely target the 7-seat electric segment, is set to launch next month.

New MG 7-Seater Launching Next Month
MG will most likely launch the Mahindra XEV 9S-rivalling SUV in the next month. The model will be based on the Wuling Eksion, which is sold in Indonesia. The model is also expected to undercut the XEV 9S 70 kWh, which is priced at Rs. 26.64 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This eventually means that MG is planning to go aggressive with its new electric 7-seater, and the same could be expected for other upcoming models.
Speaking about this 7-seater SUV, its dimensions closely match those of the XEV 9S. Design-wise, the MG SUV has a boxy, upright stance and an upright tail. The list of features could include a 12.8-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, ventilated front seats, ADAS, and more.
The JSW MG SUV is expected to be offered with a 69 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 600 kms. However, it is yet to be determined if MG will offer any other battery pack options for this SUV. Other than that, the Eksion-based SUV will likely sport a front-motor, front-wheel-drive layout, while the XEV 9S has a rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive arrangement.

Sources say that MG is planning to launch this new seven-seater in August; the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Moreover, MG’s new electric seven-seater will target the sweet spot of the Mahindra XEV 9S; hence, we expect its starting price to be around Rs. 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
