New Kia Syros EV Variants Wise Features List – Battery Specs Details

Kia recently expanded its electric portfolio to include the Syros EV. It will primarily challenge rivals like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Kia is expected to announce the prices for Syros EV soon, which could start at around Rs 15 lakh. To understand Syros EV’s potential, let’s explore its variant-wise features.

Kia Syros EV variants, performance, range

Kia is offering the Syros EV with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack options. These are the same battery packs as used with Carens Clavis EV. However, Syros EV uses the K1 platform, the same as that of the ICE-powered Syros. A total of 7 variants are on offer. The base variant HTK is offered with only the 42 kWh battery pack.

HTK+ and HTX are available with both 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh (Extended Range) battery options. Syros EV top variants, HTX+ and X-Line, are available with only the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack. All variants are equipped with a front mounted electric motor. Power output is 135 hp with the smaller battery pack variants and 171 hp with the larger unit.

Torque output of 255 Nm is the same for all variants. Syros EV smaller battery pack variants have a certified range of 443 km. Variants with the larger battery pack deliver 526 km on a full charge. These variants have the best-in-class performance and range numbers. With the 51.4 kWh variants, 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in 8.1 seconds.

Syros EV supports DC fast charging of up to 100 kW. An 11 kW AC charger can also be used. With the AC charger, the 42 kWh variants take around four hours to achieve 10-80% charge. In comparison, the 51.4 kWh variants take 4 hours 50 minutes with the AC charger. With DC fast charging, all variants can achieve 10-80% charge in around 39 minutes.

Syros EV – Variant-wise features

Even the base HTK variant of Syros EV offers a comprehensive range of premium features. Exterior highlights include Star Map LED DRLs, Ice Cube LED MFR headlamps, Star Map LED combination tail lamps, LED front fog lamps and LED high mounted stop lamp. Inside, key features include dual 12.3-inch screens, a 5-inch AC control, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Syros EV base HTK variant has paddle shifters, shift by wire gear selector, electric power steering, Type-C USB ports, electric parking brake (EPB) with auto hold and rear AC vents. Kia is offering 25 safety features as standard with all variants of Syros EV. These include 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, virtual engine sound system and rollover sensors.

Syros EV HTK+ gets some additional features such as rear view camera with dynamic assistance, cruise control and a 100 watt Type-C USB charger. Next is the HTX variant, which has additional features like a dual pane panoramic sunroof, rear wiper and washer, LED rear turn signal and all power windows.

HTK+ ER variant has R17 crystal cut dual tone aero alloy wheels, in addition to the features available with HTK+. HTX ER variant has some additional features over the HTX. These include OTA updates and day and night IRVM with Kia Connect 2.0 controls.

Syros EV top variants – Key features

HTX+ ER has features (in addition to HTX ER) such as leatherette seats and sporty metal pedals. This variant also has an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual camera dashcam, battery heating system and 95+ connectivity features via Kia Connect 2.0.

Syros EV HTX+ ER also gets an auto anti glare rear view mirror with Kia Connect 2.0 controls. It has front ventilated seats, rear ventilated seats (seat only), wireless phone charger, front parking sensors and 4-way power driver seat.

Syros EV X-Line has additional features such as 64 colour ambient mood lighting and LED footwell lamps. ADAS Level 2 suite with 16 autonomous features is available exclusively with the X-Line ER variant. Other features include V2L (Vehicle to Load), puddle lamps, digital key and side parking sensors.
