Upcoming JSW SUV Spotted Testing
The recently spotted model is the iCAUR 03, a five-seater SUV from Chinese carmaker Chery. It is likely to be launched in India under the JSW Motors nameplate. The model was recently spotted uncamouflaged, being transported on a flatbed truck.
The undisguised model revealed its boxy body, clearly inspired by the Land Rover Defender. Notable design elements include an upright front fascia, inverted L-shaped LED headlamps connected by a black strip, a chunky front bumper, and five-spoke alloy wheels. The SUV features black plastic cladding all around and gets flush-type door handles. The blacked-out rear pillar and flat roofline give the SUV a balanced design.

More or less, the India-spec Chery iCAUR 03 is expected to share similar underpinnings and feature options, including the powertrain, with the international-spec model.

Hyundai Creta To Get A Worthy Competitor
In international markets, the SUV measures 4,406 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,715 mm high, and has a 2,715 mm wheelbase. With these dimensions, the SUV will likely compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, VinFast VF7, and Tata Sierra EV in India. If JSW plans to launch it at a competitive price, it could help the SUV achieve strong sales.

Modern Features Assist The Modern Look
The Chery iCAUR 03 looks good, as the revealed images show. Its modern look carries over into the interior. The interior of the international-spec iCAUR 03 looks modern, with all the essential features plus a few extras. The feature list includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 9.2-inch digital driver’s display, powered and ventilated front seats, ventilated rear seats, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and more.

A Do-It-All SUV?
The Chery iCAUR 03 gets a 69.8 kWh LFP (Lithium-ion Phosphate) battery pack and a dual-motor setup that produces a combined output of 279 bhp and 385 Nm of torque. It also gets an AWD drivetrain. This makes it capable on normal roads, highways, and even off-road.
The range isn’t that promising, though. While other SUVs in this segment are already targeting a 500 km range, this SUV’s battery pack is claimed to deliver 418 km on a single charge.

Competitive Pricing Could Change The Game
JSW has already said it will price all its upcoming SUVs quite competitively. If this model enters JSW’s lineup, which we expect by late 2027, JSW might price it aggressively. All factors combined, we expect this new SUV to be priced somewhere between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
