Guild flags last-minute exits
In its statement, the Producers Guild said, "We, the Producers Guild of India, have also received formal complaints from our members, Excel Entertainment Private Limited and Panorama Studios International Limited, regarding these issues arising just days before the commencement of principal photography."
The body said such decisions have a wider impact on the industry ecosystem and added, "No member of the industry should indulge in such behaviour that has, in these cases, led to substantial financial loss to our member producers as well as to other verticals in the industry. Such actions by any industry member have serious and far-reaching consequences and undermine the spirit of trust, professionalism and mutual respect on which the film industry is built."
Reports had earlier claimed that Akshaye opted out of the third instalment of the Drishyam franchise following the success of Dhurandhar and disagreements over his remuneration.
Akshaye Khanna's exit from Drishyam 3
The controversy surrounding Akshaye Khanna's exit from the Hindi remake of Drishyam 3 gained fresh attention after producer Kumar Mangat Pathak revealed that the actor stepped away from the project just a day before the release of Dhurandhar. The unexpected decision reportedly came only weeks before filming was scheduled to commence, leaving the makers caught off guard. Earlier, in an interview with Times of India, Pathak said Khanna had initially shown great enthusiasm for the film after hearing the script. According to the producer, the actor was highly optimistic about the project's potential and had even predicted that it could surpass the Rs 500-crore mark at the box office. Pathak added that the actor was so impressed by the narration that he embraced the director following the script session. “What was disappointing was the silence that followed,” Pathak said, adding that repeated attempts to reach Khanna after the message went unanswered.
FWICE revokes directive
FWICE on Wednesday revoked the non-cooperation directive it had issued against Ranveer Singh in relation to the Don 3 controversy. The move came nearly a week after the actor reportedly approached the court challenging the directive, which had been announced by the body during a press conference in Mumbai.

The film body also said it would address the legal notice sent by Singh through the appropriate legal process. Addressing the media on June 3, representatives of the federation said, "We will respond to the legal notice in a legal way."
The developments have kept the focus on Ranveer Singh's exit from Don 3, the Guild's warning over last-minute exits and the wider concerns raised by producers over financial losses and professional trust within the industry.
