For starters, Citroen eC3 X will get LED projector headlights and LED fog lights, as confirmed in the teaser.
Under their Citroen 2.0 strategy, Citroen India is on the verge of completely overhauling their product portfolio to incorporate new and updated vehicles. In that regard, Citroen launched X versions of their ICE lineup including C3 hatchback, Basalt and Aircross SUV.
However, the electric version of C3, called eC3, did not get this X treatment. Now, Citroen eC3 X has been teased for the first time ahead of its formal launch. It has to be noted that Citroen eC3 launch is happening right around the corner of 2026 Tata Tiago EV launch, which is one of its rivals.
Citroen eC3 X Teased
Ahead of its launch, Citroen eC3 X has been teased and it shows some probable changes with this electric hatchback. Updates are expected to be similar to what Citroen gave C3 X over C3. Exterior updates with C3 X are few, but they add a touch of sophistication and same could be the case with eC3 X as well.
For starters, Citroen eC3 X will get LED projector headlights and LED fog lights, as confirmed in the teaser. Citroen’s Proxi-Sense keyless entry system with push-button start might be part of the package too. It is expected to get alloy wheels as eC3 X will be based on the top-spec Shine trim. On the inside, more features are expected to be added.
These include Metropolitan leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard for a premium ambience, cruise control with speed limiter for convenience, LED ambient lighting, fast USB Type-C chargers, auto-dimming IRVM, auto climate control and other features. In C3 X, HALO 360 camera was an optional extra at Rs 25k, which could be the same with eC3 X too.
In terms of safety, Citroen eC3 X is expected to get 6 airbags, speed-sensitive door lock, ESP, ABS, EBD, hill hold assist, TPMS, engine immobilizer and other features. Attributes like 10.2-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay may continue as they are.
Specs, Powertrains
Battery capacity is likely to be the same at 29.2 kWh, promising a range of around 320 km on a single charge. The single electric motor is rated at 57 PS and 143 Nm and the top speed is 107 km/h. Ground clearance is 170 mm and boot space is 315L, which is more than what is offered in Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.
We hope there is a revision in pricing because currently, Citroen eC3 starts from Rs 12.9 lakh (Ex-sh) for Feel trim and the top-spec Shine trim is priced at Rs 13.26 lakh (Ex-sh). A base eC3 Live trim is incoming too. Rivals like Tata Punch EV start from much less, while offering much more.
