At least four people, including three children, were killed in a series of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Kyiv region, local authorities said on Sunday, as both sides carried out large-scale drone strikes.
The attacks, which continued for more than a day, damaged 31 sites across five districts, including homes, industrial and utility facilities, an agricultural business and vehicles, Kyiv regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said.
Among those killed were a mother and her two three-year-old children after a Russian drone struck their home. A fourth victim, a child injured in a separate attack in Vyshhorod district, later died in hospital.
The Fastiv district suffered the heaviest damage, with 24 locations affected. Other areas hit included Obukhiv, Brovary and Bucha, according to Ukrainian authorities. Russian attacks also targeted railway infrastructure in central Ukraine, while a separate strike on a monastery reportedly killed a priest and injured four others.

Mass Drone Attack Reported In Russia
The attack came hours after Russian authorities reported a major Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow and surrounding areas on Sunday, coinciding with the final day of Russia’s parliamentary elections.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 1,600 drones had been intercepted, including about 450 heading towards Moscow.
A section of the Moscow oil refinery was damaged, while residential buildings were also hit. Russian authorities reported deaths and injuries in the wider Moscow region.
Sobyanin said the attack was intended to disrupt the parliamentary elections, a claim made by Russian authorities. Ukrainian officials have not accepted that characterisation.
A separate Ukrainian drone strike also hit a bus in a Russian-occupied part of the Kherson region, killing two people, including a member of an electoral commission, according to Russian authorities.
