The software professional shared that he started his career in 2015 with a salary of ₹37,000 per month at a service and consulting company. He said that the company had a good tech culture and helped him learn and gain experience. Then, he shared that he got a promotion, and after 4 years, his salary grew to nearly ₹1.1 lakh per month. However, he said that he eventually became "complacent" and decided to switch jobs.

In 2019, the techie shared that he joined a FAANG-level company with a ₹44 LPA package, which was nearly three times his previous salary. "Here I got good exposure to a big company and how things work in a large corporate setup. Then COVID happened and the workload became too much to handle. It started taking a toll on my mental health, and coupled with all the negative news around, I quit the job without any offer in mid-2020," he wrote.

The OP said that he then joined a US-based real estate startup with a ₹50 LPA package. He received a promotion within 8 months, taking his package to ₹65 LPA. By the end of 2021, his package had risen to nearly ₹70 LPA after an appraisal, he said.
