JSW MG Motor will launch its newest 7-seater, the Starlight 560-based SUV, on July 16. The model is already on sale under the Wuling badge in international markets. MG will bring it to India under its badge. Here’s a look at the car’s five key details.

Bigger Than Its Rivals

One of the key aspects of this upcoming 7-seater SUV is its length – at nearly 4.7m, it is longer than the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Safari. Well, this extended space will provide more room on the inside. So, we can expect it to offer a slightly better third-row seating experience compared to its arch-rivals. So, finally, we could see some adults sitting a bit comfortably (not fully) in the third row.

Features That Count

We have seen MG SUVs offering so many features – and this MG Starlight 560 won’t compromise on that. The SUV in the international market features a 12.8-inch infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster; expect the same setup on the India-bound model. Additionally, expected features include a 6-speaker audio system, 3 driving modes, powered front seats, a large panoramic sunroof, and more.

Safety

Safety-wise, this new MG SUV will boast a robust structure, with around 79 per cent utilisation of high-strength steel. We will surely see how the SUV performs in the BNCAP crash tests. Apart from a high-steel structure, this upcoming 7-seater will also boast several safety features, including a 6-airbag system as standard, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, and more.

Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain

Something extra that it will boast is the plug-in hybrid setup. It combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery pack and a single motor. This setup helps deliver a total range of more than 1,000 km. Basically, it will be the first mass-market plug-in hybrid SUV in the country. MG Starlight 560 Launch & Expected Price

This upcoming 7-seater will be shown in India on July 16. The pricing is expected to be between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
