4 / 8 Santy Sharma On ‘Cockroach Janta Party’? In his Instagram statement, Sharma dismissed the CJP trend as more of an online spectacle than a meaningful movement. He argued that many internet users, particularly younger audiences, often support viral campaigns without researching the people or motivations behind them. According to Sharma, the founder of the so-called movement had allegedly shared posts critical of India in the past and had also reportedly been associated with political circles linked to the Aam Aadmi Party. He further stated that genuine nationalism should focus on issues such as development, employment, education, innovation and national unity rather than emotionally driven online campaigns that encourage outrage or protest culture. The rapper also warned against what he described as the increasing influence of meme culture, viral outrage and emotionally charged digital narratives on political discussions among Gen Z users. 5 / 8 While criticising the movement, Santy Sharma clarified that political criticism itself is not wrong in a democracy. Sharma reportedly stated that no political party, including the BJP, is above criticism. According to him, social media algorithms increasingly amplify emotionally driven narratives, often without encouraging constructive public discussion.

He claimed that several accounts supporting the trend appeared linked to anti-India narratives originating from countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh. He urged Indians to remain cautious about digital manipulation and propaganda tactics circulating online. Sharma concluded by saying India required “constructive discussions, not chaos driven by viral trends” and appealed to authorities to monitor such activities carefully in the interest of national stability and public peace.
