Lando Norris has called for a one-race ban for Franco Colapinto after being taken out by the Alpine driver during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The incident was a bruising one for Alpine, who were on for a double-points finish as Gasly and Colapinto were seventh and 10th at the restart.
Norris was blunt in his assessment of what should follow such an incident, insisting the current penalty framework does not go far enough.
"If you cause a crash on a restart like this, you should have at least a one-race ban," said Norris, speaking to the media, including RacingNews365.
Reiterating his point, Norris said: "I think FIA should be more strict and start handing out bans for this kind of stuff.

The incident happened on lap 35 in Baku, when Colapinto locked up under braking for Turn 1 following a safety car restart and collided with both his Alpine team-mate Pierre Gasly and Norris' McLaren. All three cars were eliminated on the spot.

Colapinto, however, was over-adventurous and over-eager given his lunge into T1.

The stewards later handed Colapinto a 10-second. As he did not finish the race, that is certain to be converted into a grid penalty for next weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, which is taking place at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit.
Reiterating his point, Norris said: "I think FIA should be more strict and start handing out bans for this kind of stuff.
"You know, it's careless of people. It costs a lot of money. All my parts are in the bin now. So yeah, people should just get banned. That's not driving. I deserve to be in front of one."
