WWE RAW presented its August 17 episode of the show from the Keybank Center in Buffalo, New York. The show saw the return of Roman Reigns who was hand delivered Solo Sikoa by the Usos. Additionally, Bron Breakker and Oba Femi are set to clash at Sunday Night's Main Event. and a lot of lucha libre action in high-stakes matches was seen on the flagship show with rivalries intensifying.Stephanie Vaquer opened the show and berated Liv Morgan and the Judgment Day. They came out and it was a 3-on-1 assault in the ring. Becky Lynch came down to help Stephanie, but she accidentally hit The Man leading to a altercation. Morgan then pulled Lynch out of the ring and pushed her to the post. The trio then took down Vaquer and stood tall in the end.This was a singles match. The exciting affair inside the ring concluded with Je'Von hitting the OG Cutter on McDonagh to pick up the win. Following the match, he was involved in a brawl with Big Cass continuing their feud ahead.This was the first match of the night in the World Heavyweight title #1 contender tournament.It was a spectacular display of lucha libre action and ended with Fenix hitting the Mexican Muscle Buster to win and advance further.The rising stars of the women's division clashed in a singles match. Despite Lyra Valkyria's new dark persona, it was not enough as Sol Ruca used a DDT and Sol Snatcher combination to win the match.This was the second match of the night in the World Heavyweight title #1 contender tournament. Another classic bout between the two talented luchadors concluded with Dragon Lee's victory as he hit an inverted DDT and Operation Dragon to score the win.Chad Gable defended his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio. It was perhaps the best match of the night as both men produced a highly captivating match which ended with Gable using the small package to win the match and retain his title.Roman Reigns returned and The Usos hand-delivered Solo Sikoa to him. Sikoa still showered arrogance to the OTC who asked him to fall in line. This led Jacob Fatu to attack Sikoa. LA Knight came to his aid. Sikoa hit Reigns with the Spike and he and Knight stood tall to end the show.
