A woman was beaten to death by her husband in Nagpur, Maharashtra, after an argument over serving food and attending a dance class escalated into a physical altercation, police said.
The accused, identified as Krishnalal, 41, was arrested after a post-mortem examination revealed serious injuries on his wife's body.
Speaking to India Today, Haresh Kalsekar, Senior Inspector, said Krishnalal had returned home from work and asked his wife, Yamini, to serve him a meal.
Yamini refused, telling him to serve the food himself as she wanted to attend a dance class.
The examination revealed serious injuries, prompting the police to question and detain her husband.

The couple's disagreement soon escalated into an argument and then a physical altercation, police said. The incident came amid dance practice sessions being held for women at their flat between 10 pm and midnight ahead of the Ganesh festival.
Police said Krishnalal, enraged during the altercation, severely assaulted Yamini. She suffered deep injuries to her neck and abdomen.
The injuries were fatal, and Yamini died.
POST-MORTEM RAISES SUSPICION
Following Yamini's death, police initially registered a case of accidental death.
However, Yamini's family suspected that something was wrong and insisted that her body undergo a post-mortem examination. The examination revealed serious injuries, prompting the police to question and detain her husband.
During the investigation, Krishnalal confessed to murdering Yamini, police said.
The police subsequently arrested him and registered a murder case.
The couple had two sons. Their elder son is 14 years old, while the younger one is four.
