Justice Murari studied law from Allahabad University and enrolled as an advocate on December 23, 1981.
He began his practice at the Allahabad High Court, where he was appointed as an additional judge on January 7, 2004.
He became a permanent judge in 2005, and in June 2018, he was elevated as Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
He was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court on September 23, 2019.
He retired from the Supreme Court in July 2023.
