A 73-year-old man driving a car dragged a motorcycle for several metres after hitting it in Delhi’s RK Puram area on Thursday night.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing bystanders stopping the car and confronting the driver.
According to Delhi Police, the incident took place at around 10:22 pm. During the inquiry, police found that Tanish Tokas was sitting on a parked vehicle on the side of the road when his motorcycle was hit by a blue-coloured Honda Amaze.

The car was being driven by Venu Gopal, 73, a resident of Vasant Kunj. Due to the impact, Tanish fell from the motorcycle, following which the bike was dragged for a few metres by the Honda car.
Police said Tanish did not sustain any serious injuries. The driver was subsequently arrested, and the offending vehicle was seized after an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Delhi Police said the accused driver was examined, and no alcohol was detected.
The video shows as the vehicle continues moving, people can be heard urgently asking the driver to stop. They shout, “Arey ruk ja! Ruk ja!” (Hey, stop! Stop!).
After the car stopped, several people gathered around the vehicle and confronted the driver. A woman expresses her anger and asks him to step out, saying, “Kitna bekar aadmi hai... Kitna ganda aadmi hai! Tu bahar nikal!” (What a terrible man... What a bad man! You get out!).
Other bystanders also asked the driver to come out of the car, repeatedly shouting, “Bahar nikal! Tu bahar nikal! Arey bahar nikal!” (Get out! You get out! Hey, get out!). The driver remained inside the car and folding his hands, pleading with those confronting him. He says, “Sorry...” (Sorry).
As the confrontation continued, a bystander pointed to the seriousness of what happened and said, “Yeh toh banda marne wala insaan hai...” (This guy is going to kill someone...). Others continue asking the driver to come out, saying, “Isko utaro, isko bahar nikalo! Bahar nikalo isko!” (Get him out, pull him out! Pull him out!).
One bystander then questions the driver's decision not to stop after the collision. He said, “Arey aapki galti nahi thi toh aapko rukna chahiye tha na?” (Hey, if it wasn't your fault, you should have stopped, right?).
The driver continued pleading with the people around him. At one point, he attempted to explain his actions, saying, “Maine na... main toh indicator diya tha...” (I... I had given the indicator...).
However, the driver's explanation did not satisfy the bystanders, who questioned him why he did not stop immediately after hitting the motorcycle.
One of them said, “Arey ruk toh jaate wahan pe! Galti nahi hai? Meri bike ke niche hota toh kya karta tu?” (Hey, you should have stopped there! You say it wasn't your fault? What would you have done if someone had been under my bike?).

The confrontation continued as the bystanders repeatedly asked the driver to get out of the vehicle.
Later in the video, a woman alleged that the collision happened in front of them and accused the driver of trying to flee after drinking alcohol. She said, “Humare saamne hit hui hai! Pagal, daru peeke bhag raha hai!” (It was hit right in front of us! Crazy, he is running away after drinking alcohol!). However, Delhi Police later said the accused driver was examined, and no alcohol was detected.
The driver continued folding his hands and pleading for forgiveness as the confrontation continued.
The vehicle has been seized, and further investigation is underway.
