Video: Risky overtake, driver egged on to speed, then a fall into Uttarakhand gorge

It appeared that the EcoSport again tried to overtake the car, but the passengers did not allow it to pass. We are ahead of the car,” one of the passengers told the driver as loud music played inside the vehicle and a horn could be heard from behind. As the car continued accelerating at high speed, the driver asked the other passengers whether he should slow down. A screeching sound of tyres was heard, after which the car appeared to be hit from behind. However, it has not yet been established whether the car was actually hit or what caused the driver to lose control.

A road trip in Uttarakhand’s Tyuni took a terrifying turn after a car veered off a narrow road and plunged into a nearly 100-foot gorge, killing one person and leaving two others injured. It appears that the vehicle was hit from behind, which led to the accident.

The entire sequence was captured on the car’s dashcam. The footage reveals an interesting angle. It indicates that the car may have been involved in a chase with another vehicle, possibly a Ford EcoSport, on the narrow hill road.

On the day of the incident, the car dangerously overtook the EcoSport. It subsequently sped up and moved ahead of the vehicle. It appeared that the EcoSport again tried to overtake the car, but the passengers did not allow it to pass.

“Let it go, let it go now. We are ahead of the car,” one of the passengers told the driver as loud music played inside the vehicle and a horn could be heard from behind. However, the car continued without allowing the other vehicle to pass.

One of the passengers was also heard saying, “Sorry, I am sorry,” while bursting into laughter. It was unclear whom he was referring to, and the remark appeared sarcastic.

As the car continued accelerating at high speed, the driver asked the other passengers whether he should slow down. However, they encouraged him to continue at the same speed.

Moments later, disaster struck. A screeching sound of tyres was heard, after which the car appeared to be hit from behind. The driver then lost control, crashed into a roadside pole and plunged into the 100-foot gorge.

However, it has not yet been established whether the car was actually hit or what caused the driver to lose control.
