Trump Shares Chilling Iran Map With US Flag
US President Donald Trump on Monday shared a map of West Asia on social media showing an American flag overlay and red arrows pointing towards Iran from several directions, adding to growing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The post came shortly after Trump warned that “the clock is ticking" for Iran to accept a US-backed peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
The latest development has triggered fresh speculation over possible military action involving the United States and Israel against Iran.
Trump warns Iran
On Sunday, Trump delivered a sharp message to Iran through a post on Truth Social.
“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!" Trump wrote.
The warning came soon after Trump held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to reports, the two leaders discussed the ongoing war involving Iran.
The conflict began on February 28 after the United States and Israel jointly carried out military strikes inside Iran.
Trump-Netanyahu talks
Netanyahu had earlier confirmed that he was scheduled to speak with Trump following the US president’s recent visit to China.
He had also indicated that Iran would remain one of the main topics during the discussions.
The conversation between the two leaders has come amid reports suggesting that the United States and Israel may be preparing for another round of military strikes against Iran.
Trump’s latest social media post has further intensified those discussions online.
Fragile ceasefire
The United States and Iran have maintained a fragile ceasefire since April 8.
However, negotiations aimed at reaching a broader peace agreement have reportedly failed to make progress.
Efforts to restart diplomatic talks have also faced difficulties in recent weeks.
Iran claims US offered no major concessions
Earlier on Monday, Iranian media reported that Washington had failed to provide any meaningful concessions during negotiations with Tehran.
According to Iran’s Fars news agency, the United States presented a five-point proposal during talks.
The proposal reportedly included a demand that Iran should keep only one operational nuclear facility.
The report also claimed that Washington wanted Iran to transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the United States. The latest reports have added to uncertainty surrounding future negotiations between the two countries.
