US attacks Iran: In a fresh series of attacks, US Central Command said it hit over 80 targets as an immediate response to Iran's latest attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military added that it struck Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats in and near the strait.

IRGC said it struck 85 US military sites across Bahrain and Kuwait, including Ali Al-Salem Airbase in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet naval base in Salman Port, Bahrain, Bloomberg reported citing a statement carried by Iran’s state television. Iran warned of more attacks if the US repeats strikes on Tehran, Reuters reported.
Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks, its military said on X, urging the public to follow safety instructions.
In Bahrain, sirens were sounded, its interior ministry said, urging citizens to “remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.”
Qatar condemns Iranian attack on its vessel: Qatar strongly condemned Iran's attack on its vessel "Al-Rekayyat" while it was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night. The country called the incident an "unacceptable attack" on international maritime navigation and global energy security.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Majed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and official spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, "The targeting of the Qatari vessel 'Al-Rekayyat' while transiting near the Strait of Hormuz constitutes an unacceptable attack on the security and safety of international maritime navigation, the security of global energy supplies, and a grave and explicit violation of international law, particularly the rules guaranteeing freedom of navigation & safe passage through international waterways."
NATO says strikes on Iran ‘necessary’: Amid ongoing NATO meeting, where US President Donald Trump is also present, Secretary General Mark Rutte said the latest attacks on Iran were "absolutely necessary," expressing support for the strikes amid escalating tensions in the region.
