TVS Motor Company has announced that Peyman Kargar, currently President of its International Business, will be appointed Director and Chief Executive Officer effective January 27, 2027, succeeding K. N. Radhakrishnan, who has led the company for several years.

Radhakrishnan will continue in his current role until the transition date to ensure continuity, after which he will serve as Non-Executive Director until the company's Annual General Meeting in July 2027.

TVS Motor's FY2025-26 Performance

The leadership transition comes as TVS Motor closes out a strong fiscal year. The company sold 5.9 million vehicles globally in FY2025-26, recording 30% revenue growth. This performance has set the stage for the company's next phase, which will be led under new management from early 2027.

Peyman Kargar's Background and Mandate

Kargar brings over three decades of automotive experience spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with exposure across product development, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing. He joined TVS Motor's International Business division, which under his watch grew to contribute 29% of the company's total sales volume at an expansion rate of 33% — making it one of the faster-growing parts of the business.

In his new role, Kargar will be responsible for driving growth both in India and in global markets, with a focus on product innovation, premiumisation and deeper penetration into developed markets. The company has indicated that strengthening its technology capabilities and AI integration will also be among his key priorities.

On the Transition

Chairman Sudarshan Venu, in announcing the appointment, said it reflects the company's intent to consolidate its global position, pointing to Kargar's market experience and strategic background as factors in the decision. He also noted Radhakrishnan's role in building the organisation to its current scale over his tenure.

Kargar, in his statement, outlined his intention to build on the company's existing momentum, reaffirming commitment to TVS Motor's core values and organisational culture. He pointed to technology leadership, quality and customer focus as the pillars of his approach, alongside efforts to grow the company's footprint in key international markets.

Radhakrishnan, for his part, said he looks forward to supporting a smooth handover over the coming months and expressed confidence that the company is well-positioned going into the transition.
