Renault Triber CNG-

Renault has recently offered an updated feature list for the Triber, and the 7-seater has already received a mid-lift update in 2025 as well. But it still misses something that could have been a huge reason behind the success of the class-leading Maruti Ertiga. Looks-

The Triber has already received a major facelift last year, featuring the more SUV-like styling. Even though the car’s overall silhouette remained the same as before, the looks were completely different. It features a new front grille, projector headlamps, and LED DRLs at the front, while the rear taillamps have also been changed. And these changes are expected to remain unchanged with the upcoming update. What about the features?

Interiors & Features-

Earlier, the Triber offered an 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch driver’s display, wireless charging, a cooled glovebox, and cruise control. But with the 2026 update, this 7-seater now offers the first-in-class automatic climate control, a dual-tone dashboard, a fully folding 2nd row for additional boot space, and much more. All of this is expected to remain unchanged with the next budget as well. Then what exactly is about to be changed?

Powertrain-

The biggest and most interesting changes to the updated Triber will be made under the hood. The current generation of the Triber features a 1.0-litre NA petrol engine, producing 71bhp and 96Nm torque. Paired with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. In 2025, Renault started offering dealer-level retrofitted CNG kits for the Triber, but this fitment will eat up much of the already small boot on the 7-seater with a 3-row layout. Recently, the automaker showcased its plan to solve this problem by introducing dual-cylinder underbody CNG technology to the Triber. Also, what’s interesting to see is that, along with the CNG update, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Kiger could also make its way into the Triber. Producing a good 100bhp and 160Nm and offering better performance than the current NA unit. What else?

Rivals-

Once launched, the major rival to the updated Triber will be the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Another rival is the recently launched Nissan Gravite. Triber, with its factory-fitted dual-cylinder underbody technology, could be the go-to choice for budget-conscious buyers looking for a compact 7-seater.

Expected Launch & Pricing-

Renault has already showcased the Triber’s CMF-A platform, which has been reworked to accommodate CNG tanks beneath the body. With that being said, we can expect Renault to launch the Triber with the updates by the festive season. Considering all the updates, Triber CNG might also get a price hike of about Rs 60,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Which means Triber could be priced between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 9 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
