Police demolish Structures built by drug offenders worth Rs 50 cr

Samba Admin/Police demolish Structures built by drug offenders worth Rs 50 cr J and K

Samba, May 17: Today’s demolition drive at identified drugs hotspot "Balole Khad" Bari Brahmana is part of a focused Anti-Narcotics Enforcement Action being conducted jointly by District Police Samba and the Civil Administration against illegal structures which had become a safe haven for drug peddlers and habitual offenders involved in heroin trafficking.

The drive was led by SSP Samba Sh.Anuj Kumar, IPS along with Civil Administration in which approximately 50 Kanals of land valuing Rs.60 crores approx. encroached by the drug peddlers has been retrieved.

The land retrieved during the drive belongs to Industrial area SIDCO Bari Bari Brahmana and accordingly handed over to it. Boundary fencing of the retrieved land has been completed and the flood lights have also been installed. *The illegally raised structures were being misused for storage, concealment and supply of narcotic substances, particularly heroin,* thereby destroying the lives of youth and adversely affecting public order and safety.

The area has been under continuous surveillance and *several notorious drug peddlers operating from here have a long criminal history having involved in more than 35 FIRs*.

Among them: *1. Mohd Baru S/o Mohd Yousaf R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana*: involved in 10 FIRs including NDPS cases and other criminal cases registered at different Police Stations of district Samba and Jammu. Moreover, a *PSA warrant* has also been issued against him ine January 2026, pursuant to which he is absconding.

*2. Dahua Bibi W/o Mohd Baru R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana*: involved in 03 FIRs including NDPS case and other criminal cases registered at PSe Bari Brahmana.

*3. Manshu S/o Bhag Hussain R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana* : involved in 07 FIRs including NDPS cases and other criminal cases registered at PSE Bari Brahmana.

*4. Farman Ali @ Munna S/o Bhag Hussain R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana* involved in 03 NDPS cases registered at PS Bari Brahmana.

*5. Farooq Din @ Dana S/o Gashu Din R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana*: involved in 02 FIRs including NDPS case registered at PS Bari Brahmana.

*6.Farooq Ali @ Kana S/o Kala Khan R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana* : involved in 06 criminal cases registered at PS Bari Brahmana.

*7.Haider @ Raju S/o Dhamma Din R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana* : involved in 02 criminal cases registered at PS Bari Brahmana.

8. Farman Din S/o Gashu Din R/o Balole Khad Bari Brahmana* : involved in 02 criminal cases registered at PS Bari Brahmana. Apart from these drug peddlers, several other drug suppliers and criminal elements have also been operating from this area* and using these structures for narcotics-related activities. During the drive, a total of 33 illegal structures including narco palaces of 08 said drug peddlers raised on the encroached land have been demolished.

This action forms part of the sustained crackdown being carried out under ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan against narcotics networks and the infrastructure facilitating drug trafficking in the district.

Samba Police have adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddling and every individual involved in destroying the future of the younger generation through narcotics trade shall be dealt with strictly under law.

The Police, in coordination with the civil administration, shall continue such anti-narcotics operations to dismantle the entire drug ecosystem and ensure that no area is allowed to become a hub of heroin supply and criminal activities.
