Amid the Renukaswamy murder case, a report has now claimed that Pavithra Gowda’s former husband, Sanjay Singh, has passed away. Reportedly, Singh died several months ago in Rajasthan following liver-related health complications.

Pavithra Gowda was previously married to Sanjay Singh and the couple has a daughter. Their marriage reportedly ended in 2012 after around five years. Reportedly, Singh was battling his dependency on alcohol after his divorce from Gowda.

Following her divorce, Pavithra became associated with Darshan. The latter’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, had also referred to Singh in 2024 while clarifying that Pavithra was not legally married to Darshan. In a letter to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Vijayalakshmi stated that she was Darshan’s only legally wedded wife and identified Pavithra as his friend. She also mentioned Pavithra’s earlier marriage to Sanjay Singh and their daughter.

Pavithra Gowda In Jail

Meanwhile, Pavithra Gowda continues to remain at the centre of the high-profile case involving Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. Gowda is an accused in the murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of Darshan, who was allegedly abducted and killed in Bengaluru in June 2024.

Police claim that Darshan, along with a group of aides, conspired to abduct Renukaswamy and subject him to severe physical torture. Investigators believe the victim was held at a private location where he was assaulted over a sustained period. Darshan was arrested in connection with the case after several suspects reportedly confessed and named him as a key conspirator. His bail plea was also rejected multiple times.

Recently, Pavithra was reprimanded by the Karnataka High Court for allegedly using headphones in jail. She appeared before the court via video conference on August 13, but was questioned after she reportedly appeared late and was allegedly seen wearing headphones. While she denied using them, the judge did not accept her explanation and sought a written clarification from jail authorities.
