In a stern warning that underscores escalating regional anxieties, Pakistan’s Commander of the National Strategic Command, General Syed Aamer Raza, on Sunday reiterated the country’s nuclear deterrence capability, warning that any military miscalculation by adversaries would face a retaliation “far exceeding" expectations.

Addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, General Raza stated that while Islamabad does not seek conflict, its armed forces remain in a state of high operational readiness to defend the state.

Strategic Warning and Nuclear Deterrence

“Our stance is clear-cut and unwavering towards those who harbor aggressive intentions against Pakistan beyond our borders," General Raza told the graduating cadets.

“There is no room for conflict or war in the nuclear environment, and any miscalculation will be met with a response that far exceeds the imagination and expectations of those who initiate it."

The army commander stressed that Pakistan’s strategic forces are fully prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty at all costs, emphasizing that the armed forces “are always ready to defend every inch of the country."

Escalation Over Cross-Border Infiltration and Kashmir

Turning his focus toward regional security, General Raza delivered a strict warning regarding border security, asserting that cross-border infiltration will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s traditional diplomatic stance on the region’s core geopolitical friction point, declaring that Kashmir remains an unresolved international dispute that must be settled under the framework of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

Global Role and Leadership Mandate

Despite the rigid security warnings, General Raza highlighted what he described as Pakistan’s constructive engagement on the global stage. He noted that the international community has witnessed Pakistan’s mediation efforts to defuse regional frictions and played a positive role amid recent global tensions. He also called for an immediate end to human rights violations in Palestine.

Concluding his address, the National Strategic Command chief reminded the newly commissioned officers of the heavy responsibility they now bear for the nation’s security, dignity, and protection.

He emphasised that integrity, courage, and bravery remain the fundamental pillars of military leadership as the armed forces continue to prove their capabilities across all operational fields.
