WWE'All Ego' Ethan Page is your brand new WWE Intercontinental Champ.
The former AEW > NXT > WWE main roster success story captured his first title on the top brand by beating workhorse Chad Gable in a predictably well-worked 18 minute match on Monday's episode.
Page had injured Gable's neck with an attack on last week's flagship, and that played into the finish here.
Page had previously challenged then-champ Penta for the strap on the 23 May version of Saturday Night's Main Event.
They also reported that this title switch was the 193rd in the belt's rich history since it launched back in 1979.

Ethan pushed Chad into the exposed turnbuckle before smashing the now ex-champion with his Egoplex move to bag the belt.

For reference, Gable's popular IC Title reign ended at 92 days following 4 successful televised defences - he won big by beating Penta at SummerSlam before fending off Rey Mysterio (Raw on 17 August), Dragon Lee (14 September edition), Rey Fenix (12 October) and then in a Triple Threat vs. Mysterio and Lee on Raw's 19 October show.
Page had previously challenged then-champ Penta for the strap on the 23 May version of Saturday Night's Main Event. 'All Ego' is a former NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion, and he also held the AAA Mixed Tag-Team Titles with Chelsea Green.

This is a huge show of faith in his abilities from boss Triple H and others on WWE's creative team. Moments like this definitely vindicate Ethan's decision to depart AEW and move to NXT. That jump has paid off big time for the guy.
The Wrestling Observer's write-up noted that Page becomes the 96th individual wrestler to hold the Intercontinental gold. They also reported that this title switch was the 193rd in the belt's rich history since it launched back in 1979.
