Turn your awareness into action with the Food Safety Connect App," the food regulator said in a post on X.FSSAI has ramped up its food inspection, reporting and action efforts to curb marketing, selling and consumption of unsafe food.In a recent incident, the Food Safety Department took action against against a spice manufacturing unit in Lucknow. The authority ordered closure of the unit after inspection, seizing adulterated materials & collected samples for laboratory testing.The authority had issued nine notices to Swiggy Instamart on Saturday over multiple consumer complaints alleging the supply of expired, spoiled, contaminated and otherwise unsafe food products, including rotten eggs, expired whey protein, spoiled food items and damaged packaged goods. The regulator also flagged alleged licensing irregularities related to NOICE Eggs , incorrect FSSAI licence details and lapses in seller compliance and consumer grievance redressal.FSSAI has sought a detailed explanation on Swiggy Instamart's food safety, quality assurance, inventory management, hygiene and corrective measures, warning of legal action under the FSS Act, 2006 if the platform fails to submit a compliance report within the stipulated timeline. Swiggy Instamart said it is reviewing the flagged listings and is working with the authorities to resolve the matter.
