Casio has brought the G-Shock 2500 Series to India , a new analog collection modelled on the DW-5000C, the first G-Shock ever made. Prices start at Rs 9,995 and go up to Rs 26,995. The range is available in two versions: the resin GAC-2500 and the metal-clad GMC-2500.The standout addition is a feature Casio calls Multi-Mission Date. A three-cell window at the 3 o'clock position shows the date, but it also switches to display stopwatch elapsed time and setting information. Once configured, the watch handles month-end changes and leap years by itself, so there's no manual date correction every time a 30-day month rolls over. The new series holds on to the squared-off outline that made the first G-Shock so recognisable, though the case now has softer, more rounded contours. Casio has built the design around a concept it calls "Depth in Shadow". On the watch, that translates into sculpted surfaces, a layered dial and sharply defined indexes that play with light. The dial uses the brand's Two-Eye Signature layout. A small-seconds display sits at 9 o'clock, and a multifunction indicator takes the 3 o'clock spot. It keeps the face uncluttered and quick to read. The softer look does not change the basics. Both the GAC-2500 and the GMC-2500 retain G-Shock's shock-resistant build and a 20-bar water resistance rating, which is enough for swimming and snorkelling.Casio has also kept the proportions compact, which should suit smaller wrists better than the brand's bulkier designs. The collection was unveiled at a media event in New Delhi, which featured installations by Chit1 Studios, Yogi Kumar and Buzzinka, each interpreting the "Depth in Shadow" idea in their own medium.Takuto Kimura, Managing Director, Casio India, said, "The 2500 Series marks an important milestone for G-Shock in India. As consumer preferences continue to evolve, we see growing appreciation for products that combine strong functionality with thoughtful design and craftsmanship."He added that the collection reinterprets the brand's legacy of toughness "through a sophisticated analog design that balances durability, functionality and craftsmanship."For anyone who liked the look of the original G-Shock but wanted hands instead of a digital display, the 2500 Series is now on sale in India across both resin and metal-clad options.
