A Krishnanagar court had issued an arrest warrant against Moitra on August 19 after she failed to appear before it.
Today, the High Court said that the issue with regard to the jurisdiction of the court which directed issuance of arrest warrant against her requires consideration.
Moitra’s counsel earlier submitted that due to a resolution of the local bar association, she could not participate in the complaint case on June 18.
It was also argued that the complaint case was pending before a court lacking jurisdiction to hear it.
The complaint case against Moitra reportedly accuses her of making objectionable remarks, including those insulting women.
