Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd has been upping its product offensive in the country. We saw the launch of Gravite and then Tekton recently and both these vehicles aim to draw more buyers and footfall into showrooms than what they already were. Now, a new vehicle is being prepped for that purpose which should expand the horizon further for Nissan.
We’re talking about Nissan’s first mainstream 7-seater SUV for India and it will be an extended version of Tekton. It has been spied before, but the front and rear lighting signatures have been spied testing for the first time. These will create some design distinction between Tekton and this upcoming 7-seater version of Tekton.

Nissan is coming up with a 7-seater version of Tekton to boost overall sales and Nissan’s overall image in the country.
Tekton 7-seater version comes with a unique rear LED tail light signature to create a distinct identity. C-shaped LED tail light signature is gone and is replaced with boomerang shaped signature which extends downwards. LED light bar connecting both tail lights look thicker and it could be a one continuous piece below camouflage or might comprise of LED ribs.
Entire vehicle was camouflaged, but we can see just how much length Nissan has added to this SUV. All real estate you can see behind the fuel filler cap is extra over the 5-seater Tekton. It looks around 300 mm and probably a little more than that. Wheelbase looks like it is carried forward (2,657 mm) to keep development costs in check.
At the front, we can see Tekton’s inverted L shaped LED DRLs and LED reflector headlights with Tekton 7 Seater as well, but the camouflage hides other changes we can expect. A revised fascia with a new grille, redesigned bumper and other elements might be changed.
New Interiors, 7-Seat Layout
On the inside, Nissan Tekton 7-Seater will get three-row seating which could be proper seating for 6-7 adults or just 5+2 with space for kids in third row. Other than added third row, one can expect some features and amenities to attract buyers. We wish there is second row ventilated seats, a second climate zone for middle row occupants, tray tables (like in Renault Lodgy), sliding and reclining second row seats and more.
Where powertrains are concerned, Nissan Tekton 7-seater might not come with the 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine option like its 5-seater counterpart. The 1.3L 4-cyl Turbo Petrol is much likely and there is a small probability of 1.8L NA Petrol Strong Hybrid engine option as 5-seater Duster. 6-speed MT and 6-speed Wet DCT gearbox options along with FWD layout are likely.
