These options support stable detection near rails, brackets, fixture surfaces, and other background objects.
The Q2F is part of Banner Engineering’s Q2 family of miniature photoelectric sensors, which includes the slim Q2X and flat Q2F models.
The Q2 family provides multiple sensing modes, connection options, and cable configurations for installation in precise machinery and confined industrial spaces.
Its compact design also supports sensor standardization across machines with multiple sensing points.

The Q2F is available with cutoff distances of 10, 15, 30, and 45 mm. These options support stable detection near rails, brackets, fixture surfaces, and other background objects. The sensor is designed to provide consistent detection across varying target colors and surface finishes, including dark and low-reflectivity materials. It can also detect submillimeter targets for presence and absence verification of small features and components.
The Q2F is part of Banner Engineering’s Q2 family of miniature photoelectric sensors, which includes the slim Q2X and flat Q2F models. The Q2 family provides multiple sensing modes, connection options, and cable configurations for installation in precise machinery and confined industrial spaces. Q2X models are available for short-range detection of small objects and long-range sensing across distances of up to 3.3 meters.
The sensor uses single-sided sensing, eliminating the need for separate receivers or reflectors. Crosstalk immunity and ambient- and fluorescent-light immunity support operation in installations with multiple sensors positioned in close proximity.
With an 850-microsecond response time, the Q2F can detect fast-moving parts and leading edges. A visible red emitter supports alignment, while on-device power and status LEDs provide local operating feedback during setup and troubleshooting.
The Q2F includes a mounting bracket with M2 and M3 mounting options. M8, M12, and flying-lead connection configurations are available to support installation requirements across machines and fixtures. Flexible cable routing accommodates tight bends and moving tooling while reducing strain at the sensor exit.
The sensor has an IP65 rating for applications exposed to dust and occasional splashing. Its compact design also supports sensor standardization across machines with multiple sensing points.
