India edged China 238-237 to clinch gold in the men’s compound archery event, completing a clean sweep of all three compound events. Earlier, the women’s team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi defeated China to win gold, while India beat South Korea in a shoot-off in the mixed team final to seal another gold and secure a place at the LA 2028 Olympics. The three compound archery golds take India’s gold medal tally to 10.

The Indian women’s squash team advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Games with a 2-0 win over Singapore, assuring itself of a medal. Tanvi Khanna got India off to a winning start with a gritty 11-6, 4-11, 15-13, 11-1 victory over Au Yeong Wai Iynn in a 32-minute opening singles match, before Anahat Singh, who won silver in the individual event, sealed the tie with an 11-7, 11-3, 11-4 win over Au Yeong Wai Yhann in just 22 minutes

The women’s hockey team will face South Korea in the semi-final, with a win bringing India closer to securing direct qualification for the LA 2028 Olympics. Neeru Dhanda will return to action in the trap mixed team event alongside Kynan Chenai after her individual gold medal win.
