Annu Kapoor had earlier opened up about a disturbing incident from a film set, revealing how an intimate scene allegedly went beyond what was intended and left the actress shaken.

Veteran actor Annu Kapoor had earlier made a shocking claim about the way intimate scenes have been handled on film sets. In an interview, he claimed that there have been instances where male actors became so involved in a scene that they failed to stop even after the director called ‘cut’. Recalling one such incident, Kapoor said the actress involved was left so shaken that she did not step out of her room for two days.

Speaking on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube show, Kapoor opened up about the challenges actors can face while shooting intimate sequences, particularly at a time when intimacy coordinators were not a regular presence on film sets. He claimed that he had witnessed actors becoming aroused during such scenes and, in some cases, taking advantage of the situation.

“I have seen actors get aroused during intimate scenes and not stop, even when the director says cut. Many take advantage of such situations, but I have never done that," Kapoor had said.

He then recalled a specific incident involving an unnamed male actor and actress. According to Kapoor, the actor “got carried away" while filming an intimate scene and allegedly continued even after the director had called ‘cut’.

“During one such scene, the hero got carried away. Even after ‘cut’ was called, he didn’t stop. The actress had to struggle to get away and run off. She was so shaken that she didn’t step out of her room for two days," he alleged.

Kapoor added that the actress could corroborate his account if required, but he did not reveal the identities of either actor involved.

Reflecting on how intimate scenes were filmed earlier in his career, Kapoor also pointed to the lack of formal safeguards on sets. He said that intimacy coordinators, who now help establish boundaries and ensure actors are comfortable during intimate sequences, were not around during his early years in the industry. “There were no intimacy coaches back in our time. There were moments when people would take advantage of the situation during rehearsals," he had said.

“At times, I’ve also checked in with my co-actor, simply asking, ‘Are you okay?’" he added.

Kapoor also recalled working with Priyanka Chopra in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 7 Khoon Maaf, where an intimate scene became a point of discussion. According to Kapoor, a kissing scene was part of the script, but Chopra was not comfortable performing it. He said Bhardwaj maintained that the scene was important to the story, but when the team informed him that Chopra was uncomfortable, he did not create an issue.

“I didn’t create any issue, but somehow the news spread. I have always handled such scenes professionally," Kapoor said.
