The Indian two-wheeler market witnessed a bunch of interesting developments last week, but what truly stole the show was the launch of the new Bajaj Pulsar N160. It has become a way more enticing proposition than before. There were more such updates to pay attention to, and here’s a round-up of the top five of them.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 S and SS were launched at Rs. 1,33,511 and Rs. 1,42,585 respectively ex-showroom. Updates to the bike include a new, more powerful four-valve engine, electronic throttle, larger front forks and a more attractive electronics package. The motorcycle now produces 18bhp, up from the previous 15.5bhp output, and the top-end variant offers bits like traction control and four riding modes. A new colour TFT screen has also been added to the package.
Yamaha introduced the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the R15 V4 and MT-15 in India. The motorcycles have been priced at Rs. 1,76,050 and Rs. 1,77,230, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom). They proudly showcase Yamaha’s signature MotoGP-inspired livery across the tank shrouds, fuel tank and side panels, clearly giving away the racing inspiration. Mechanically, the R15 and MT 15 remain unaltered.
Royal Enfield will soon expand its ADV portfolio in India with the launch of the Himalayan 440. It is expected to be launched in India in September 2026. The motorcycle will mark the return of a more rugged, highly accessible, and mechanically simpler adventure bike, reviving the ethos of the original Himalayan 411. The new 440 will be based on the Royal Enfield Scram 440’s platform and will be powered by the bigger 443cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder LS440 engine.

It appeared much closer to production than earlier prototypes. The newly sighted test mule was a road-focused version of the adventure motorcycle. The 750cc motor is expected to produce more power than the current 650cc twin. It will also be equipped with a ride-by-wire throttle, a first for a Royal Enfield. This will enable the inclusion of riding modes and cruise control.
Ather Energy confirmed that its upcoming EL-platform-based electric scooter will be called the Konarc. It will be launched in India on 29 August at the Ather Community Day 2026. It is the first production model to be based on the new scalable EL platform. It is expected to feature a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel combination, with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The Konarc is also likely to get a seven-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity.
