Yamaha registered domestic sales of 72,821 units in May 2026, recording a strong 58% YoY growth, aided by healthy demand for scooters and premium motorcycles
India Yamaha Motor reported domestic sales of 72,821 units in May 2026, registering a sharp 58.01% growth compared to 46,086 units sold in May 2025. The company added 26,735 units year-on-year, driven by strong demand for RayZR, R15, MT-15 and Fascino scooters, while the newly launched XSR range also made a significant contribution.

The RayZR remained Yamaha’s highest-selling product in May 2026 with sales of 21,403 units. Compared to 13,023 units sold in May 2025, the scooter registered a growth of 64.35%, adding 8,380 units. RayZR accounted for 29.39% of Yamaha’s total domestic sales during the month.
The FZ series retained second place with sales of 14,862 units, up 14.51% from 12,979 units sold a year ago. The FZ lineup contributed 20.41% to Yamaha’s total sales. Fascino scooter also delivered a strong performance with sales of 8,412 units, up 60.20% from 5,251 units sold in May 2025.
The popular R15 sportbike posted sales of 9,803 units in May 2026, compared to 5,997 units in May 2025. This translated into a strong 63.47% growth, with volumes increasing by 3,806 units. MT-15 was close behind with 9,579 units sold, registering a 36.18% increase over 7,034 units sold in May last year. XSR 155 sales were at 6,587 units. Together, the 155cc motorcycle range have a 35.66% share in total Yamaha sales.
Aerox 155 sales improved to 2,091 units, up 18.81% from 1,760 units sold in May 2025. The EC06 electric scooter recorded 84 units during the month. Meanwhile, Yamaha’s imported twin-cylinder motorcycles R3 and MT-03 did not register any sales in May 2026, compared to 42 units sold in the same month last year. There have been reports that these two bikes have been discontinued.
Month-On-Month Performance
Compared to April 2026, Yamaha’s domestic sales increased by 7.11%. Sales rose from 67,988 units in April to 72,821 units in May, an increase of 4,833 units. RayZR recorded a healthy 23.73% MoM growth, gaining 4,105 units. MT-15 posted one of the strongest sequential gains, growing 42.10% from 6,741 units in April to 9,579 units in May.
Aerox sales also improved by 22.42%. On the other hand, Fascino sales declined by 19.35%, while FZ and XSR registered marginal month-on-month declines of 5.51% and 4.73%, respectively. Yamaha’s performance in May 2026 highlights the growing popularity of its premium motorcycle lineup and sporty scooters.
RayZR continues to lead volumes, while R15, MT-15 and the newly introduced XSR range are helping strengthen Yamaha’s position in the premium two-wheeler segment. With overall sales crossing 72,000 units and growing 58% YoY, Yamaha maintained strong momentum in the domestic market.
