The WTA French Open tennis moves into the Round of 16 on Sunday. The best match on the board pits Marta Kostyuk against Iga Swiatek, but there are other compelling matches as well. Now we will find out which players are serious about contending for the championship and which ones just aren’t good enough. It is one of the most important weeks of the 2026 tennis season, since the players who do really well in France will carry a lot of momentum and confidence into the grass season and Wimbledon. LWOS has our best bets for four matches on Sunday. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

WTA French Open

Kostyuk – Swiatek: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 0-3

Marta Kostyuk faces Iga Swiatek in a high-profile match. The winner has a very good chance of making the semifinals, maybe even the final. Kostyuk comes in having won 15 straight matches on clay. She is in the best form of her career and is obviously showing an ability to maintain a high level of play on a consistent basis. When a player wins 15 straight matches on a specific surface, it is impossible to deny that the player is very comfortable. That will be a challenge for Iga Swiatek, who has been the best female clay champion in tennis this decade but has not been as strong in recent years. Swiatek does lead the head-to-head, but Kostyuk is riding a wave of confidence. It’s easy to imagine either player winning this match.

Best Bet to Make

Because this match is likely to be close, the over 2.5-set bet is hard to resist. Swiatek is a very accomplished clay-court player, but Kostyuk is riding a 15-match winning streak on the surface. When thinking about this match, it seems very hard to think the match won’t be tight and tense, decided by one or two key points here and there. When that kind of match exists, expecting three sets seems reasonable. Put differently, it seems hard to think the match will end in only two sets. Obviously, the player who wins the first set will have a chance to win the match in two sets, but both players figure to have their moments here. This does not feel like a match in which one player will take full control. Go with over 2.5 sets.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets @2.60 @Betsson

Cirstea – Wang: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 0–1

Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea faces Xiyu Wang. Cirstea is on a roll. She scored the very rare 6-0, 6-0 scoreline in an easy win over Solana Sierra in the third round. Cirstea is playing the best tennis of her career, and what makes this even more interesting is that Cirstea is supposedly retiring at the end of the 2026 season. She is playing with more enjoyment and less anxiety, and it’s paying off. Xiyu Wang beat Yulia Starodubtseva in the third round to advance to the Round of 16. She is having the best major tournament of her career and will try to build on what she has already done.

Best Bet to Make

Cirstea is playing really well right now. If she doesn’t get too nervous, she is clearly the better player compared to Wang. She very easily beat Sierra in straight sets, and Sierra is not that different from Wang. As long as Cirstea plays at a high level, she should be able to win this match convincingly. We told you to take Cirstea in straight sets over Sierra and were rewarded for that call. There’s no reason to doubt Cirstea now. As long as she is not playing elite (top-10) opponents, she should be able to keep winning.

That being said, betting on Cirstea winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Cirstea winning 2:0 @1.61 @1xBet

Svitolina – Bencic: Time 6:30 EST

H2H: 4-2

Elina Svitolina faces Belinda Bencic in a battle of top-12 players. Svitolina struggled earlier in the tournament against Anna Bondar, needing a third-set match tiebreaker to survive. Since then, however, she has steadied herself and has won her two most recent matches by decisive margins. Svitolina is trying to win her first major championship and is facing one of the most important weeks of her professional career. Belinda Bencic has looked very good in the first week of this tournament. She has won her three matches in straight sets. She hasn’t yet lost a set in this event.

Best Bet to Make

Bencic is playing well, but Svitolina is a better player who has regained form after that shaky first-round match against Anna Bondar. Svitolina had to worry a little bit, but has then calmed down. She should be able to take control of this match and stay in control. She just won the Rome title and feels comfortable playing on clay. Also, as the wife of French tennis star Gael Monfils, Svitolina will be the favorite of the crowd in Paris. If the match gets close, the crowd will support her, and that might be worth one or two games. The price on Svitolina moneyline isn’t amazing, but it’s enough to warrant a bet.

That being said, betting on Svitolina winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Svitolina winning @1.60 @1xBet

Andreeva – Teichmann: Time 8:30 EST

H2H: 0–0

Mirra Andreeva faces Jil Belen Teichmann. Andreeva is trying to make her first major-tournament final. She has reached the semifinals of the French Open before, but she is now trying to take that extra step and get closer to a championship. She was very solid in the last round against Marie Bouzkova, winning in straight sets, but she struggled in the previous round, needing three sets to beat Marina Bassols Ribera. Jil Belen Teichmann upset No. 10 seed Karolina Muchova in the third round. Teichmann is having her best tournament of 2026 after a long period of struggle. Can she keep the momentum going here?

Best Bet to Make

Teichmann is having a great tournament in Paris, but her win over Muchova was marked by Muchova having blisters on her foot and needing medical attention during the match. Teichmann is playing well, but not as well as her results might indicate. Andreeva is clearly the better player and should be able to win this match decisively. Andreeva winning in straight sets won’t give you any kind of price worth betting on, so the game spread is the play. You could be ambitious and try for Andreeva minus 6.5 games, but 5.5 is a safer play for a reasonable price.

That being said, betting on Andreeva -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.
