A 25-year-old woman and her newborn died at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa.
Just hours before her delivery, a video that has since gone viral on social media, showed her pleading with her family to take her away from the hospital and expressing fear about continuing treatment there.

Kalpana had been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), also known as Gandhi Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday. s per her family, she underwent a caesarean section the next day, following which she and her newborn died during treatment.
The family has alleged serious medical negligence, claiming that Kalpana repeatedly complained about her condition and that she and her relatives were not provided timely treatment.
They also alleged that doctors and nursing staff behaved rudely with them.
The video, which has sparked outrage, shows Kalpana visibly distressed as she pleads to take her away from the hospital. A family member appeared to console her, telling her that doctors were treating her and that she would be fine.
The deaths have triggered protests at the hospital. Grieving family members staged a sit-in outside the main gate, demanding action against those they held responsible.
Hospital authorities have denied allegations of negligence. Following the uproar, Dean Sunil Agarwal and Superintendent Rahul Mishra reached the spot and spoke to the family, assuring them of an impartial enquiry.
As a preliminary action, two nursing officers who were on duty have been suspended and a committee has been constituted to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
A panel of doctors from the district hospital is expected to conduct the post-mortem examinations. Officials said the exact cause of death of the mother and newborn would be established only after the post-mortem and inquiry reports.
BJP MLA from Mangawan, Narendra Prajapati, also visited the hospital and met the bereaved family. He spoke to hospital officials and assured the family that action would be taken if anyone was found responsible.
