The incident took place on July 24, when Sachdeva assaulted her help following a minor dispute over work, according to police. The nearly 90-second video, recorded by a neighbour through a kitchen window, went viral on social media today and showed Sachdeva repeatedly slapping her help, shoving her, grabbing her face and pulling her hair. Police took notice of the video showing Sachdeva assaulting the domestic help and arrested her after registering an FIR. They registered an FIR against Sachdeva under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 127(2) (wrongful confinement) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police identified the accused as the wife of a Gurugram-based liquor businessman who lives in the posh apartment. According to police sources, the domestic help, a native of Nepal, had been working at the woman's home for the past two years.
DCP (East) Sandeep Kumar said police took note of the viral video and were verifying the facts.
“After taking note of the viral video, an FIR was registered against the woman employer under Section 115 of the BNS at Sushant Lok police station on Sunday night. We are verifying the facts and action will be taken as per the law,” he said.
SHO Sushant Lok Aman Kumar said the police were investigating the incident and the video from all angles.
According to police sources, the domestic help, a native of Nepal, had been working at Sachdeva's home for around two years. She left the job on July 27, three days after the assault, and has since returned to her hometown.
Police sources said the domestic help has not lodged a complaint and, in a written statement, requested that the viral video be removed from social media platforms. A relative also said she did not have any grievance against her employer.
The video has drawn widespread outrage on social media, with several users demanding action against the woman. Police officials also visited the spot and conducted a field inquiry after the video went viral.
The case has been forwarded to senior officials and the area magistrate, while further investigation is underway.

Police sources said the domestic help has since returned to her hometown and, in a written statement, requested that the video be removed from social media platforms.
A relative of the woman also said she had not lodged a complaint with Gurugram Police and did not hold any grievance against her employer.
