3 / 7 Akhilesh Yadav also questioned the government's ambitious infrastructure projects, alleging that the expressway had started deteriorating within just two to three weeks and asking whether such projects would remain only on paper. Akhilesh further alleged that infrastructure built under the BJP government was becoming known more for "sinking, collapsing and falling" than for durability.
4 / 7 The controversy centres around the stretch near Begumkheda village in Asoha block of Unnao district, where the expressway has reportedly caved in several times. According to reports, the road developed damage for the third time within 17 days of its inauguration, prompting fresh repair work.

5 / 7 Adding to the embarrassment, a truck carrying construction material for the repairs reportedly got stuck on the damaged stretch. Photos from the site also showed around 10 fans being used to dry the repaired portion of the road before it was reopened, drawing widespread attention on social media.
6 / 7 The Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway is the latest highway project in Uttar Pradesh to face criticism over its condition. Earlier, the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway also came under the spotlight after a viral video showed deep potholes on the road during the monsoon.
