‎He has a record of 36 wins and only 2 losses, boosting of 94.74% win rate so far in 2026.

‎The World No.1 is on 29-match winning streak entering Roland Garros 2026.

Why Jannik Sinner Won’t Win The French Open Title:

Fatigue

‎Jannik Sinner has played a lot of matches since November last year, and he doesn’t look like he is stopping anytime soon–and this is taking a toll on his body. There are clear indications he sometimes struggle physically during matches but always finds a way to get through it. Sooner or later, it might catch up to him.

‎2025 Paris Open (Masters)

‎The Italian spent just under seven hours of total playing time across all five matches in the 2025 Paris Masters.

‎He spent more than an hour on court in each of those five matches, and the match he spent the least time on the court was the quarterfinal match against Alexander Zverev, which lasted 65 minutes.

‎The final against Félix Auger-Aliassime lasted 112 minutes.

‎Sinner spent roughly almost ten hours in California with the match against Joao Fonseca which taking two hours and one minute because there where to tie-breaks, which Sinner won both of.

‎Daniil Medvedev pushed Sinner to the limit in the the final with both sets going to tiebreaks in which the Italian prevailed. The match lasted one hour and 55 minutes.

‎‎2026 Miami Open

‎Sinner won the Miami Open to complete the rare feat of winning both Indian Wells and Miami. He became first man since Roger Federer in 2017 to win the Sunshine Double.

‎The World No.1 spent around eight-and-a-half hours across all matches in Miami, with the semifinal match against Alexander Zverev lasting an hour and 53 minutes.

‎‎2026 Monte Carlo

‎Jannik Sinner defeated Ugo Humbert in quick straight sets in the Round of 64 which lasted one hour and four minutes, and then came back from a set down to defeat Thomas Machac in the Round of 16, which lasted two hours and one minute.

‎He spent less than two hours against Auger-Aliassime and Zverev in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

‎The final between Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz lasted two hours and 15 minutes, which Sinner won in straights to win his first Monte Carlo title in Monaco.

‎He spent roughly 7.5 hours on court across five matches.

‎2026 Madrid Open (Masters)

‎Sinner spent roughly 8.5 hours across six matches.

‎The Madrid Open was one of the most efficient and dominant tournaments he played all season.

‎The Round of 64 match against Benjamin Bonzi was the toughest in Madrid, in which he had to come back from a set down to win 6-7(6) 6-1 6-4 in 2 hours 20 minutes.

‎The final against Zverev only lasted 57 minutes, with Sinner winning in straight sets, 6-1 6-2.

‎‎2026 Italian Open

‎Medvedev was the only player in Rome to take a set against the World No. 1 in a match which was spread across two days due to rain. The match lasted two hours and 37 minutes.

‎All the other matches Sinner played in Rome all lasted under two hours, and he defeated Casper Ruud in the final to complete the Golden Masters.

‎The Italian spent roughly nine hours on court across six matches.

‎Sinner has now spent over 40 hours on court over the 30+ matches winning streak. He has admitted that he is experiencing fatigue during this period but he is managing it well. The Italian leaned against a wall during an on-court interview in Rome after his quarterfinal victory against Andrey Rublev.

‎Fatigue has contributed to a lower first-serve percentage and also his fitness level has been questionable especially during the semifinal match against Medvedev in Rome.

‎It will be very difficult for Jannik Sinner to win this year’s French Open since it’s a best-of-five, which obviously means more time on court.

‎There will be more rallies which will take huge toll on the body, and Sinner without more rest,, may find it very difficult to cope. if there is one player who can win in every condition it’s the World No.1. But he needs a break, both physically and mentally. He just hasn’t had one in too long.

‎There is a saying that when the body gets tired, the brain goes with it.
