Alia Bhatt and Sharvari arrived on India’s Got Latent Season 2 to promote their upcoming film Alpha, but one contestant ended up becoming the biggest talking point of the premiere. Avinash Agarwal, a stand-up comedian known for his Donald Trump impersonation, left the judges in splits and walked away as one of the standout performers of the night.

The June 20 episode marked the return of Samay Raina‘s comedy-talent show after nearly a year. While viewers were eager to see the celebrity guests on India’s Got Latent Season 2 Episode 1, social media conversations soon shifted towards Avinash and his performance as the former US President.

The Act That Won Over The Judges

Taking the stage as Donald Trump, Avinash delivered a fast-paced set packed with observations, crowd work and jokes aimed at the panel. His roast of Alia Bhatt and playful digs at Samay Raina drew loud reactions from both the audience and judges. The act also translated into impressive scores.

Ashish Solanki, Balraj Ghai and Alia Bhatt awarded him perfect 10s. Sharvari scored him 9.5, while Samay Raina also flashed a 10, praising his stage presence and comic timing. By the end of the performance, Avinash had firmly established himself as one of the breakout stars of the season opener.

More Than Just An Impressionist

Many viewers may have discovered Avinash through India’s Got Latent, but comedy is only one part of his career. Avinash works as a stand-up comedian, writer, voice artiste and event host. According to details available on his social media profiles, he comes from a theatre and performing arts background and has written and performed in more than 200 live shows across India.

His work has taken him beyond comedy clubs as well. He has hosted events featuring personalities including Manisha Koirala, Abhay Deol, Johnny Lever and Anurag Kashyap. He has also been associated with script-writing projects involving Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

Why He Calls Himself The ‘Indian Trump’

The Donald Trump character is not new for Avinash. On social media, he describes himself as the “Indian Trump", a nickname that has become closely linked to his comedy persona. His online content frequently features Trump-inspired sketches and impersonations, making the character one of his most recognisable acts.

A Global Achievement Few Comedians Can Claim

Away from comedy, Avinash has also represented India on an international stage. One of his notable achievements came at the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking in the United States, where he finished among the top 30 speakers in the world.

With India’s Got Latent Season 2 now underway, Avinash Agarwal’s Instagram has jumped to 140K, as the time of publishing the story.
