All three vessels were struck close to Oman. The attack on the tanker near Limah overnight, which triggered a blaze eight nautical miles (14 km) off the coast of Oman, was the ⁠first reported incident in the Strait of Hormuz since mourning ceremonies began last week for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Earlier in the day, Iran said there would be no more peace talks unless Donald Trump halted his repeated threats to restart the war, as ‌millions of Iranians vowed vengeance at funeral processions for their slain leader.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar confirmed on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) that the next round of talks with Lebanon will take place in Rome, as the two countries work to build on a framework agreement reached last month with U.S. backing. “Israel has no territorial ambitions in Lebanon,” he said at a press conference. A ministry spokesperson said the talks would take place at the ambassador level on July 15 and 16.
