Vivo T5 5G to launch in India: What we know about price, specs and features

Chinese smartphone brand Vivo is gearing up to launch its latest T-series handset, the Vivo T5 5G, in India next week. The smartphone is expected to join the brand’s existing T5 lineup, which includes the Vivo T5 Lite, T5x, T5e and T5 Pro.Ahead of its anticipated arrival, the brand has revealed several key details about the upcoming smartphone.The Vivo T5 5G will feature a slim design, a 3D curved AMOLED display and a large 7,050mAh battery. The handset will also be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset.The Vivo T5 5G will launch in India on Wednesday, September 2, at 12pm. The phone will be available in two colour options — Royal Bronze and Silver Green.Vivo has also created a dedicated launch microsite for the handset on Flipkart, suggesting that the e-commerce platform could be among the channels through which the phone will be sold. It is also expected to be available through Vivo’s official online store.Vivo has not yet revealed the exact price of the T5 5G. However, the company has indicated on its Flipkart microsite that the smartphone will fall within the ₹34,999 to ₹49,999 price segment.Within Vivo’s own T-series, the T5x starts at ₹24,999, while the T5 Pro is currently priced at ₹41,999. This could position the upcoming T5 5G between the two models.The Vivo T5 5G will feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The handset measures around 7.99mm in thickness and uses Vivo’s Skyline Design. A centrally placed hole-punch cutout can be seen on the front for the selfie camera.Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor. Vivo has not yet confirmed the RAM and storage configurations. The phone will run on OriginOS and is also teased to feature an NPU to support generative AI capabilities.The biggest highlight is expected to be the 7,050mAh battery, which gives the T5 5G a significant capacity advantage for users who prioritise battery life.The rear panel features a horizontal, pill-shaped camera module with two camera lenses and a circular LED light. The overall design bears a strong resemblance to the recently launched iQOO Z11, including the camera housing, flash placement and overall rear-panel layout.The company has not yet revealed the complete camera specifications of the T5 5G. It remains to be seen whether the phone will feature a camera setup similar to the iQOO Z11, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP front camera.
