Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash before seeing damaged vehicles and debris strewn across the road. The collision brought traffic movement to a halt as emergency teams rushed to the spot.
ONE DEAD, THREE INJURED
All four injured victims were taken to the civic-run Sion Hospital.
Hospital officials confirmed that an unidentified man, believed to be between 22 and 25 years old, was declared brought dead.
Another victim, Rishabh Gupta, aged around 25 to 30 years, suffered severe head injuries and remains in critical condition.
Satish Waghambare, 48, a BEST inspector, sustained injuries to his chest and hip during the crash.
Mahesh Doiphode, 50, suffered an injury to his left shoulder along with blunt trauma injuries.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Following the collision, police, fire brigade personnel and emergency responders reached the site and launched rescue operations.
The injured were shifted to hospital while authorities worked to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Traffic movement in the Dadar area slowed considerably as lanes were temporarily restricted and vehicles diverted.
DRIVER DETAINED
Police have detained the bus driver and begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Officials are examining how the vehicle lost control and whether any mechanical issues or other factors contributed to the accident.
The crash has once again drawn attention to road safety concerns in Mumbai, where a split-second incident during peak hours can quickly turn into a deadly disaster.
