Sooryavanshi made his India debut on the recent UK tour, and also featured in the subsequent Zimbabwe T20Is, where he was named Player of the Series.
The squad also includes Mohammed Shami, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Mukesh Kumar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Kumar Kushagra.

Vaibhaiv Sooryavanshi has been named vice-captain in the East Zone squad for Duleep Trophy. The 15-member squad is set to be led by Ishan Kishan.

The squad also includes Mohammed Shami, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Mukesh Kumar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Kumar Kushagra. The inter-zonal multi-day red ball competition starts on August 23 in Bengaluru.
Shami, the 35-year-old seamer, has not played for India since the 2025 Champions Trophy final, but continues to be a part of the domestic setup, having featured for Bengal in the 2025/26 season. He also played 13 out of 14 games for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.
