Sweden has condemned Houthi threats against Saudi Arabia and the group’s attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, a route used by the country to bypass the Strait of Hormuz for their energy export.

“We strongly condemn Houthi threats against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea,” Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard wrote on X.
