Ebella Makes Sales Chart DebutToyota’s fist electric car in India, Ebella, recorded sales of 12 units in its first month on the sales charts.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor posted domestic sales of 30,586 units in May 2026, registering a growth of 4.46% compared to 29,280 units sold in May 2025. On a month-on-month basis, sales grew by 1.42% from 30,159 units recorded in April 2026. SUVs and MPVs continued to dominate Toyota’s portfolio, with Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Innova Hycross together contributing more than half of the company’s total sales during the month. Toyota’s recently launched Ebella electric also made its first appearance on the sales charts.
Toyota Sales Breakup May 2026
Urban Cruiser Hyryder remained Toyota’s highest-selling model with 8,664 units sold in May 2026. Sales improved by 14.41% over 7,573 units sold in May 2025. However, compared to April 2026, sales declined by 4.95% from 9,115 units. Hyryder accounted for 28.33% of Toyota’s total sales during the month.
Innova Hycross secured second position with sales of 6,722 units. The premium MPV registered a healthy 28.21% year-on-year growth compared to 5,243 units sold a year ago. On a month-on-month basis, sales grew by 19.99% from 5,602 units sold in April 2026. Combined, Hyryder and Hycross contributed 15,386 units, accounting for over 50% of Toyota’s total volumes.
Innova Crysta sales stood at 3,603 units, marginally lower than the 3,639 units sold in May 2025. The MPV registered a 0.99% YoY decline and a 10.55% MoM decline. Glanza reported sales of 3,198 units, down 32.72% from 4,753 units sold in May last year. On a monthly basis, sales declined by 4.82%.
Fortuner continued its strong performance with sales of 2,905 units. The premium SUV posted 12.99% YoY growth and an impressive 28.94% increase over April 2026. Taisor contributed 2,496 units during the month, down 17.76% YoY. Rumion registered sales of 2,119 units, improving by 10.54% over May 2025, though declining 18.03% compared to April 2026.
Hilux, Vellfire And LC300 Register Strong Growth
Hilux sales increased to 414 units, registering a growth of 28.57% over 322 units sold in May 2025. Month-on-month sales improved by 36.18%. Camry sales remained largely stable at 192 units, slightly lower than the 198 units sold a year ago. Among Toyota’s luxury offerings, Vellfire witnessed the highest year-on-year growth. Sales surged to 164 units from just 29 units sold in May 2025, translating into a growth of 465.52%. On a monthly basis, sales were up 38.98%. Land Cruiser 300 contributed 97 units in May 2026, more than doubling from 45 units sold in April.
Ebella Makes Sales Chart Debut
Toyota’s fist electric car in India, Ebella, recorded sales of 12 units in its first month on the sales charts. While volumes remain small at this stage, the model marks Toyota’s entry into a new segment and is expected to gradually build momentum in the coming months.
