All’s well that ends well.

Sanju Samson and Heinrich Klaasen have buried the hatchet just days after their tense on-field exchange generated buzz. During the crucial IPL 2026 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, Klaasen and Samson were involved in a heated on-field altercation after Klaasen’s dismissal.

It was uncharacteristic of CSK wicketkeeper-batter Samson, who is generally genial on and off the field. The incident, however, left fans wondering what was said in the moment.

Now, Samson and Klaasen appear to have resolved the matter, with both sharing mutual respect through their Instagram stories.

“Things happen on the field but lots of love and respect to this gem of a person off it," Samson wrote on a picture in which he can be seen sharing a hug with the former South African batter.

Klaasen responded in kind and quipped that he is looking forward to their “next battle".

“Much love and respect for you, bud. Always love watching you play. Keep doing your thing. We are all good. Looking forward to our next battle," he wrote.

The incident took place during the 15th over of SRH’s chase of 181, with the contest nicely poised. Klaasen, batting on 47, was stumped off Noor Ahmad.

Before walking back, Klaasen had a brief exchange with Samson, who executed a quick stumping to hand SRH a crucial breakthrough. However, the 2016 champions went on to chase down the target in 19 overs for a five-wicket win.

Meanwhile, the Pat Cummins-led SRH have sealed their playoff berth with eight wins and five defeats from 13 matches so far. They next face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their final league fixture.

On the other hand, despite the defeat, CSK are mathematically still in playoff contention. However, they not only need to beat Gujarat Titans in their last league game but also hope other results go in their favour.
