Masaba reshared Bipasha’s Elle India digital cover on social media and described her as “the last of the OGs." She also lamented what she sees as a lack of individuality among contemporary stars.

Sharing the cover, Masaba wrote, “I am very happy to see Bipasha on a cover. You see, she is the last of the OGs."

She went on to praise the individuality Bipasha brought to the industry, adding, “There won’t be another Bipasha because everything is a cookie cutter template today."

Masaba also compared Bipasha with the current crop of actors, describing others as “boring and dull" in comparison and saying that the present generation “does not inspire one bit of confidence."

It was the next portion of her message, however, that became the talking point online.

“And @bipashabasu- I love your athletic build. I love the muscle- and I want more thanks to the standard of fitness you set," Masaba wrote.

She followed it with, “Too bad if someone doesn’t see that as feminine."

Masaba did not name Mrunal Thakur anywhere in the post. However, the wording reminded several social media users of Mrunal’s old comments about Bipasha’s physique, which had resurfaced and gone viral in 2025.

Following the backlash, Mrunal addressed the remark and apologised. The actress said she was 19 years old when she made the comment and did not understand the impact her choice of words could have.

She clarified that she had not intended to body-shame anyone and admitted that she wished she had expressed herself differently.
