Tech company Techno had on June 11 launched a new smartphone in the Pova series, Pova 8, in India. This phone has been introduced as an upgraded version of the Pova 7 that came last year. The new phone has come in two variants and its starting price has been set at ₹29,999.
The biggest feature of the smartphone is its large 8,000mAh battery and the 'Matrix Display' given on the back panel of the phone, which shows notifications and alerts of different apps in a unique way. The phone has been given MediaTek Dimensity 7,100 processor for gaming.

It offers a 91.29% screen-to-body ratio, 381ppi pixel density, and 950 nits of peak brightness for outdoor visibility. Its instantaneous touch sampling rate is 1500Hz.
Camera: For photography, it has a dual camera setup on the rear panel, with the main lens being a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor that comes with a light sensor. For selfies and video chatting, a 13-megapixel camera is provided on the front. The camera app has in-built features like AI Cam, Portrait Mode, Super Night Mode, Vlog Mode, and Slow Motion.
Performance and Software: The smartphone is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor built on 6nm architecture, which comes with Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. It has a large cooling system of 14,689 square millimeters to keep the phone cool during gaming. This phone runs on Tecno's HiOS 16 based on Android 16. For better network, it also includes dedicated G1 and SE1 signal chipsets.
Power Backup: The phone comes with a large 8,000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging. The company claims that on a single charge, this battery can provide 1,198.1 hours of standby time, 39.5 hours of calling time, and approximately 17.77 hours of video playback time.
Other Features: For connectivity, the phone has the latest Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5G support and stereo speakers for better audio experience.
