Actress Swara Bhasker has revealed that when the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict was announced, she reached out to superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan to express her solidarity. She said she felt ashamed and, as such, reached out to all the Muslims she knew to tell them that she didn’t agree with the verdict.

Appearing on The Midnight Hour podcast, Swara Bhasker said, “I was so upset when the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict came out. I was like, what is this country, and what is this verdict? I was upset because I felt it was unfair."

She added, “So, I messaged all the Muslims in my phonebook. Like from Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan sir to Fahad (her now husband). I wanted to reach out to all the Muslims I know. I wanted to tell them, as a Hindu, I just wanted to let you know that I am really sorry and that I am ashamed, and I don’t agree with this."

Swara Bhasker In Rise & Fall Season 2

Meanwhile, on the work front, Swara was last seen in the film Jahaan Chaar Yaar. She also appeared on Pati Patni Aur Panga, and is all set to return to reality TV with Rise and Fall Season 2. Hosted by former cricketer Virender Sehwag, the newly released promo confirmed Swara’s participation alongside Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Karan Patel and political commentator Shehzad Poonawalla.

In the promo, the four contestants took playful digs at each other while highlighting their individual personalities. The show’s core format revolves around power, strategy and changing positions, with contestants switching between the roles of rulers and workers as they navigate the game. Swara Bhasker is seen making her entry as a confident and outspoken contestant.

Swara said in a statement, “I’ve always been someone who wears her opinions on her sleeve, so entering a game like Rise & Fall Season 2 is going to be quite an experience. The show brings together personalities with very different perspectives, and when power and strategy come into play, I’m sure those differences will make for some fascinating dynamics. I’m excited to see how it all unfolds." The show is all set to premiere on MX Player on September 26.
