NALGONDA: Six passengers, including five women and a man, all from Andhra Pradesh and working in Hyderabad, died and 14 others were injured when a private travel bus rammed into a container truck carrying iron rods on National Highway 65 at Dorakunta in Kodad mandal, Suryapet district, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Naveen said the bus had stopped for dinner near Suryapet and met with the accident within 40 km of resuming its journey. Superintendent of Police K. Narsimha said overspeeding and drowsy driving caused the crash. A case was registered and investigation is on.The deceased were identified as Yasarapu Chinni, 32, of Telaprolu, NTR district (tailor); Bollipongu Meri Joshna, 29, of Vijayawada; Suravarapu Shakeena of Autonagar, Vijayawada; Konduru Bavanvarsha and Pidikiti Lakshmi of Vijayawada; and Chenna Keshavula Nagendra Babu, 21, of Padamati Lanka, Vijayawada (all techies).
